Matteo Darmian continues being Juventus’ number one target to replace Daniel Alves at the club. Reports from Italy say the talks with Manchester United have already started, and Tuttosport have a few updates on the figures.
The newspaper claims that Manchester United would only let Darmian go on a permanent deal, but an agreement could be found with a loan that includes an obligatory buying clause.
So Juventus would offer €4m for a one-year loan and include a clause to buy him for another €18m at the end of the spell. That would meet the €22m demanded by the English side.
However, the deal could still be blocked by José Mourinho. Tuttosport claims the manager has ‘rediscovered’ Darmian when using him as a left-back at the end of last season and would like him to stay.
Darmian is currently on honeymoon, but according to the newspaper, he keeps constant contact with his agent to be aware of the negotiations.
Meanwhile, Juventus consider other options as well. Mattia De Sciglio, João Cancelo, Danilo and Hector Bellerin are all on the club’s list in case the deal for Darmian collapses, so say Tuttosport.
