Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti would like to bring Napoli duo Hirving Lozano and Allan to Goodison Park, but it’s unlikely to happen.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb journalist Niccolò Ceccarini, who believes Everton would have their work cut out to sign both players.
The Blues are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window, with it believed Ancelotti has been promised funds to improve the squad.
Rather than grand-scale changes, the Italian has stated he believes the club needs only two or three new players and a central midfielder and right-winger are likely to be the chief targets.
Those are areas where the current squad is weak, and as a result, they have been heavily linked with his former players at Napoli.
Allan and Lozano are two who have been named as targets on multiple occasions, particularly the latter as a move to Everton would make sense given the player’s connections to Ancelotti and director Marcel Brands.
Ceccarini, though, has moved to pour cold water on such ideas, although isn’t ruling the Toffees out entirely.
“On the front of the illustrious departures, the picture is becoming more and more clear,” he wrote in his column for Tuttomercatoweb.
“Lozano remains outgoing, but Allan’s situation is also evolving.
“They’re two players Ancelotti likes, but it’s unlikely Everton will be able to land the double deal.
“However, they remain a possibility that cannot be ruled out.”
