Ansu Fati has an ‘exciting season’ ahead of him on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion from Barcelona, as Roberto de Zerbi understands him perfectly.
That’s according to Barcelona’s football coordinator, Bojan Krkic, who believes the player ‘has made a very good decision’ to join Brighton this season.
Fati joined the Seagulls at the end of the summer transfer window after he and Barcelona made the decision to part ways on a temporary basis.
The move to Brighton came as a surprise to many, particularly as it appeared he had been close to joining Tottenham but was seen as an indication of their rapid rise over the last year.
Fati is arguably one of the biggest signings in the club’s history having once been considered the next big thing at the Camp Nou and the heir to Lionel Messi.
He’s looking to get back to that level after a difficult few years and Krkic believes Brighton is the right place for that to happen.
“I think Ansu has made a very good decision to go to Brighton, which plays very good football in one of the most powerful leagues,” he said.
“The other day I came back very happy because it is a team that plays football very well and the part that made me feel calmer is that it is in very good hands.
“His coach understands football like we understand it, with talent, with young players, Ansu is in a good place to grow, the coach wants to get the best out of him and even himself. He has an exciting season ahead that will help him grow.”
