West Ham United are facing frustration in their potential pursuit of Botafogo’s Igor Jesus, with the player not interested in the move.
That’s according to TV Foco, who report that West Ham have approached the Brazilian club about the striker and offered R$255m for him, around £32.5m.
However, Jesus refused this proposal as he wants to remain focused on his current team until the end of the season as this year is proving to be one of his best. Thus, he will be remaining where he is.
Portal do Botafoguense, meanwhile, have a different stance on the matter via information from journalist Thiago Franklin.
According to him, there are no concrete negotiations taking place between West Ham and Botafogo for Igor Jesus.
The Brazilian club have in fact made it clear that they only plan to discuss the situation around him at the end of the 2024 season. They’re not ruling out an exit, but it certainly won’t be happening before their season has ended at the beginning of December.
That could at least open up the possibility of a move in Europe’s January transfer window, but it seems they have no intention of negotiating before that point.
