Brentford manager Thomas Frank has left the door open for more Danish players to join the club.

Campo in Denmark have been speaking to the Bees manager via a video call. The 51-year-old initially joined Brentford as an assistant manager in December 2016 before being promoted to first team manager in October 2018.

Since then, he has been in charge of the Premier League club, and they’ve signed several Danish players.

Brentford haven’t added any Dane to their squad since they took Mikkel Damsgaard from Sampdoria in August 2022.

Prior to Frank’s arrival at Brentford, he spent his entire coaching career at B.93 II, Lyngby BK and Bröndby IF. He also managed Denmark youth teams between 2008 and 2013.

Frank is well aware of the market in Denmark and about Danish players elsewhere. Despite not signing his compatriots in recent years, he insists Brentford are still keeping an eye on this specific set of players.

“Of course, I think that Danish players are generally insanely good in every way possible,” he said.

“There is generally something in the mentality of Scandinavian players, so if there are good enough, they are often also easy to integrate into English football. They usually speak fluent English and blend in well.”

The manager, however, has refused to give an insight on the player[s] that Brentford could look for in the summer window.

“It is clear that there is a market for Danish players, which I know very well. I also have many contacts who can provide references for players if I don’t have them completely fresh in my mind,” Frank explained.
