IFK Norrköping midfielder Sead Haksabanovic has told the Swedish media he hasn’t met expectations since joining the club in January.
During the last transfer window West Ham United loaned the player to the Swedish club and at the time there was excitement over the deal.
Fotboll Direkt have reported on comments the West Ham loanee made to the Norrköping press: “This is because I put so much pressure on myself. I have not come up to the level I want to be. I am not completely satisfied with the spring but now when the autumn season comes, I will do it much better.”
Subsequently he was sent to IFK on an 18 month contract, in order to give him more first team opportunities. There was also reported interest from Swedish champions AIK at the time but they pulled out because of West Ham’s demands.
The youngster is highly rated in his home country, but he’s failed to make an impact in his first few months with IFK.
However, it’s likely he will stick in out with the club as it’s unlikely he’ll force himself into West Ham’s first team next season.
