With no goals or assists in his first 19 appearances for Union Berlin, Leeds United loanee Brenden Aaronson may be questioned about his spell at the Bundesliga side.

The midfielder is frequently given chances at the German club, but still struggles to convince that he deserves a regular starting spot in the team.

As Aaronson today held a press conference, he’s quoted by Kicker insisting that he’s happy with his time in Berlin.

The player scored a goal in a friendly on Saturday, and hopes that will help him gain confidence to do the same in official matches.

“It’s great motivation for me. I’ve had a lot of chances to score goals over the last few months and haven’t finished them off. This goal is good for me.”

Regarding the possibility of leaving Union Berlin sooner than expected, Aaronson is quoted telling his advisor: “I’m here and I want to be here. I like the lads and the club.”

Aaronson was signed by Leeds in a €33m deal from RB Salzburg back in 2022. Following the Whites’ relegation to the Championship, he was one of the group who left on loan deals.

With him confirming that he’s staying at Union Berlin until the end of the season, the Elland Road side can only hope he does well there, as his market value already dropped, and he’s now valued by Transfermarkt at just €14m.
