Leeds United have found the back of the net seven times in their first three league games this campaign and Rodrigo Moreno has been directly involved in five of those goals.
The forward has four goals and an assist to his name, with a goal and an assist coming in the Whites’ latest win over Chelsea at the weekend.
Last season, he managed six goals and an assist from 31 league games and the majority of those came after Leeds sacked Marcelo Bielsa back in February. The Argentine was replaced with Jesse Marsch the same month.
The Spain international is enjoying life on and off the pitch with the Premier League side. He is now a key player for the club and this transformation was made after the American coach arrived at Elland Road.
“I am very, very happy, we have started the season very well. Last season was complicated for everyone, the end was very overwhelming, and now we have had time with the new coach and we have started a new cycle at the club,” he told El Partidazo de COPE.
“With Bielsa, I played a little further back. Being a captain is much more than wearing the armband at the game. I’m very happy living here and in the team. Playing in the Premier League is a privilege, it’s a very special league for the footballer and for the fans.”
The former Valencia man also discussed the possibility of making it Luis Enrique’s squad for the Qatar World Cup.
“I don’t know if he is going to call me, there are many games left and there are many people who are doing well. Luis Enrique is guided by the history in the national team and by the current form,” the Leeds star explained.
