“I went to talk to the coach” – Nottingham Forest player wondered why teammates weren’t being used

It’s fair to say that Nottingham Forest haven’t been making big use of the Brazilians they signed in the January transfer window.

Gustavo Scarpa, who joined the Reds on a free move, has eight appearances for the club, but hasn’t entered the pitch since the match against Fulham on the 11th of February.

Something similar happens with Danilo, who joined Nottingham Forest in a €20m deal from Palmeiras. He’s had five games so far, and his last was the match against Manchester City on the 18th of February.

Scarpa didn’t even make it to the squad which faced Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, and even though Danilo was taken to the bench, he wasn’t used either.

This subject was mentioned when ESPN Brasil spoke to Nottingham Forest fullback Renan Lodi after the match. The player revealed he spoke to Steve Cooper about his teammates’ situation, and claims the manager is just waiting for both of them to be fully adapted to the Premier League.

“I went to talk to the coach about that too. I asked why Danilo and Scarpa weren’t getting opportunities, and it was more a matter of adaptation,” Renan Lodi told ESPN Brasil.

“What he gave me, I passed on to them too. But Scarpa is training well, he has a good head. It’s more a matter of adaptation.”

Lodi claimed it’s all been going fast for the two Brazilians, and they should soon get more opportunities to play.

“The pair arrived in January and had little time to work and show their football. It was all crazy. It was the same for me too. It’s about having a good head, because soon they will be helping us here.”
