Last summer, Tottenham Hotspur made a big investment by spending €18m on the signing of Destiny Udogie from Udinese.
Back then, the clubs agreed to keep the fullback at the Serie A side for another year, as he continues his development in Italy and prepares himself to move to the Premier League.
Udogie continued to be an important player at Udinese, with 12 appearances this season, and only missed their past few games due to a muscle injury.
And despite the doubts regarding him keeping his good form at the Serie A side, as he could now have his mind on the move to Tottenham, it seems he continues to live up to expectations.
“I wasn’t convinced that Udogie would maintain a high performance after signing for Tottenham and instead he simply made the difference,” Alessandro Orlando told Messaggero Veneto.
So as Antonio Conte waits for Udogie to arrive at Tottenham Hotspur next summer, it seems they can be confident that they may receive a player who’s now even better than they signed at first.
