Karlsruhe sporting director Oliver Kreuzer has told the German media he would be interested in signing Hamburg forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

The 25 year old has been linked with Leeds United in recent weeks, and with Chris Wood’s departure the German could still be an option for the Championship side.

Speaking to Sport1, Kreuzer was asked about being reunited with Lasogga at Karlsruhe, given he signed the player for Hamburg when sporting director with the Bundesliga side. “I would take Pierre in a wheelbarrow to Karlsruhe. This is going to be difficult now, as much as Lasogga wants to play again.”

Lasogga looked to be on the verge of a move to Leeds United, but in the past week a move to England has gone quiet. However, with Leeds United needing a replacement for Wood, a move for Lasogga before the window closes can’t be ruled out.

The former Germany U21 international is surplus to requirements at Hamburg, and needs to find a club which can give him playing time.

Leeds United have been linked with other forwards since Wood signed for Burnley, and now need to act quickly with the deadline next week.

It would be very difficult to take Lasogga anywhere in a wheelbarrow.
