Aston Villa may have been handed their chance to sign Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams, with him admitting he doesn’t know what he’ll do in future.

The 20-year-old has been speaking to DAZN, relayed by AS, about his career to date and where it may take him in future as he continues to impress for the Spanish side.

Williams is considered as something of a star of the future and has been proving that in La Liga this season, with five goals and five assists in 27 games in La Liga so far.

His performances and potential have not gone unnoticed and several reports since the beginning of this year have put Aston Villa among his suitors.

They have already reportedly ‘tested’ the ground about a potential transfer this summer as Unai Emery looks to reshape his squad at the end of the season.

He will be more than aware of Williams after working in Spain and would seemingly be happy to take him to Aston Villa if presented with the opportunity to do so.

And that door may have now been opened for him, with Williams insisting that he has not made any definitive decisions about his future as yet.

“I have a very strong feeling for Athletic and it means everything to me,” he said.

“In any case, I’ve only had more minutes for a season, and I still don’t know what I want to do with my life.”
