As we covered earlier today, Chelsea star Willian has given a long interview to Globo Esporte, speaking of several subjects.
The Brazilian not only talked about the ‘privilege’ of working with Frank Lampard as a player and as a manager, but also said he’s keen on renewing his contract with the club.
Willian spoke a little about David Luiz, who was his teammate at Chelsea and with the Brazilian national team for years. As the Blues are facing Arsenal next month, he says he will have no mercy for his friend.
“I’ve faced him a few times, he for Chelsea, me for Shakthar, me for Chelsea, he for PSG. Now it’s he for Arsenal. He’s a brother that I have, we met at the age of eight. But on the pitch… there’s no way. If I have to nutmeg him, I will.”‘
Playing together for Chelsea, David Luiz and Willian won the Premier League title in 2017, two FA Cups in 2012 and 2018, and the Europa League in 2019.
Besides all the usual expectation around the game between Chelsea and Arsenal, we’ll be waiting to see if Willian will nutmeg David Luiz.
It’s another reason to watch the match.
