Everton allowed Jarrad Branthwaite join PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan deal in the last transfer window.
The centre-back has made 10 appearances in all competitions this term, which includes four starts for the Dutch club.
On Monday, Voetbal International reported the Eredivisie side ‘cannot stop’ Everton from bringing the 20-year-old back to Goodison Park in January, due to the agreement in place between the two clubs.
This claim from VI has also been echoed by Eindhovens Dagblad, relayed by Voetbal Primeur. The newspaper further states that Branthwaite, who has a contract at Goodison Park until 2025, will ‘have a voice in his future’.
Rik Elfrink covered the report for ED and the journalist provided his take on Branthwaite’s future, when having a chat with former PSV manager, Aad de Mos, in the latest episode of Elfrink & De Mos.
“If I were Everton, I would get him back. He is always well placed, has a good slide and is always solid with his playing pass,” the journalist said, as relayed by MSN.
“It will be a key week for the entire season. You can catch up with Ajax, but you can also get a terrible backlog in a week if you don’t get a result.”
It will be interesting to see what Branthwaite will decide in the next window, considering he will also have a say on his own future.
