Even though Gabriel Jesus now faces a small goal drought at Arsenal, we can’t ignore how good his start to the season has been. Following his move from Manchester City, the striker arrived at the Gunners with a lot to show, and was crucial in this campaign which has been keeping Mikel Arteta’s side on top of the table.
It turns out that those at the club were impressed with the Brazilian’s arrival too. One of the people who predicted his good performances at the London side was Pablo Mari, who went through pre-season there, and then ended up heading to Monza on a loan deal.
The Spaniard was interviewed this week by Play Futbol, and had a couple of generic questions to respond to. One of them was about the striker who has impressed him most, and one who ‘complicated his life’. The defender named Gabriel Jesus, and had a little explanation about that.
“This type of thing is seen. I already thought that Arsenal was going to change with him and I was not wrong.”
“Gabriel Jesus has made it very complicated for me. I was lucky enough to have him as a partner for a month or two and we talked about it. He laughed.”
Since joining Arsenal in the summer, Gabriel Jesus has five goals and five assists in 14 appearances, being the club’s top scorer this season alongside Bukayo Saka.
