Leeds United summer signing Pawel Cibicki has been praised in the Swedish media for his performance against Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
Cibicki joined Leeds United in August for a fee in the region of £1.9m. However, the youngster hadn’t played any minutes in the league until the game with QPR yesterday, and his only games had come in the EFL Cup.
In recent weeks Cibicki hasn’t even been part of Christiansen’s squads, but yesterday he was named on the bench for the trip to Loftus Road.
However, with the injury to Caleb Ekuban in the 38th minute the Swede got a chance to prove himself to the Leeds United boss, and Fotboll Direkt say the player had a successful Championship debut.
The forward was on hand to set up Leeds United’s second goal when his cross was converted by Kemar Roofe, and his side ran out eventual 3-1 winners.
Cibicki could get more chances in the coming weeks after Christiansen suggested after the game Ekuban may be ruled out with a foot injury, a similar injury which kept the Italian out for three months earlier in the season.
Also the situation with Pierre-Michel Lasogga, with an injury dragging, can help Cibicki get a run of games over the Christmas period.
