Earlier this week, reports from the Italian media brought back the links between Soutampton and Matias Soulé, saying the Saints want to invest in the Juventus loanee, who’s now at Frosione.

The story even claimed the player may not be very keen on moving to the Championship, but still, made it clear there’s interest from the St. Mary’s side.

Italian outlet Tuttosport today brings some comments made by Frosione director Guido Angelozzi to Sport Italia. There, he spoke about the Southampton target, and analysed his signing.

“I saw in him a player with the characteristics we needed. I didn’t think he could be decisive straight away but he has a great personality and a great foot, he can do everything, he needed to play and now he’s carving out this beautiful space.”

When asked whether Soulé will be ready for a return to Juventus, Angelozzi made it clear that Southampton may be facing some huge competition for his signing.

“He can stay at Juve. For many weeks English, French and Spanish teams have been coming to see him, he’s a player who is being watched.”

In his season with Frosione, Soulé has nine goals and one assist in 22 appearances so far, and his goalscoring record is what is impressing many clubs.

It now remains to be seen what Juventus will want to do with him once his loan is done. They have the winger under contract until 2026, but perhaps some interesting offers will convince them to let him go.
