As Manchester City signing Julian Alvarez continues to be River Plate’s sensation, he keeps drawing the comments from the club’s biggest personalities.

Earlier this week, we saw Javier Saviola speak about the similarities the two have, and now it’s their legend Ariel Ortega who had a word about the 22-year-old.

“Julián Álvarez surprised me. He’s a complete player. Manchester City buys him for a reason, a coach like Guardiola,” said Ortega (via TNT Sports).

“I’m surprised by the speed and power he has. He’s far superior to defenders. And when he finishes, he doesn’t miss. He has to win a place in the World Cup, it’s a final straight. It may be that there is someone injured due to the demand in Europe and he is qualified to be there, but it is game after game that he’s going to have to win it. He can play safely anywhere.”

Alvarez, who was signed by Manchester City earlier this year, is now about to play his last superclasico against Boca Juniors, and that has been getting several comments from the local media.

When the Premier League side confirmed the signing of Julian Alvarez, the Argentine press brought several possibilities about it, claiming the player could move this summer, at the end of the year, or in 2023.

However, manager Pep Guardiola recently revealed that the intention is indeed to bring the player to Manchester City in July.

That’s why River Plate are already preparing for his farewell, and the game against Boca Juniors could certainly be memorable.
