It’s not a secret anymore, but Everton are on the verge of signing Abdoulaye Doucouré from Watford.

The French midfielder was part of the Hornets team relegated back to the Championship at the end of last season, and with the player making it clear in the past he could leave this summer, it gave him an excuse for to make it happen.

Watford, however, didn’t want to let him go for peanuts, hence why talks with Everton took a while, but a fee, and a contract with the player, have now been agreed.

That’s according to TF1 journalist Julien Maynard, who took to social media on Friday to explain Doucouré ‘will sign’ for the Toffees, and the player is already ‘on site’ to do so.

He will put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Goodison Park, with Everton paying Watford a fee believed to be between ‘€22-25m’.

This is just the start for what is set to be a busy next few days for Carlo Ancelotti and co, with Napoli’s Allan and Real Madrid’s James Rodríguez set to follow in Doucouré’s footsteps.
