This Lucas Torreira to Milan story really is picking up some pace in Italy, and it doesn’t appear like anything is going to stop it just yet.
What started as simple wishful thinking appears to have developed into something entirely different, as Corriere dello Sport firmly believe there is a chance the Uruguay international could swap the Emirates for the San Siro this summer.
Despite Unai Emery not wanting to lose the defensive midfielder, who featured heavily for the Gunners last year, it’s claimed the player has ‘openly declared’ not finding himself all that comfortable in London and wouldn’t mind a return to Italy.
This was already reported a few times, and Milan are said to know they will need a ‘big investment’ to convince Arsenal, meaning somewhere around £35m.
The problem is they can’t do this on their own, and Corriere dello Sport explain they will need Torreira to help, as a deal can only happen if he ‘pushes’ for a return to Italy.
The Italian newspaper continue by stating things are ‘heading in that direction’, with the ‘bait now launched’.
Nothing will happen for the time being, however, as Milan will wait until July to make their first move at Arsenal, leaning on Torreira’s desire to leave the Premier League.
Things appear to be getting a bit more serious now.
