On May 3rd, we carried a report from Bild, who explained that Borussia Dortmund are willing to allow Jadon Sancho to leave in the upcoming window.

Manchester United are in the mix, after they failed to sign the winger during the summer 2020 market.

Bild’s report is now backed by the Bundesliga side’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, during an interview with Sport1.

“This gentlemen’s agreement between Jadon and us existed – as you all know – last summer, and that has not changed. We have set certain conditions that would have to be met for Jadon to leave the club. The timing and the fee were and are the decisive parameters,” Zorc said.

According to Sport1, the ‘timing’ mentioned by Zorc means there will be deadline for suitors like the Red Devils to come forward and make an attempt for the England international.

Last summer, BVB set a deadline on the day they made a trip to the Swiss training camp and for this year, the summer training camp (probably at the end of July) could be viewed as a deadline.

Dortmund wanted €120m for the 21-year-old last summer. According to Sport1, the BVB bosses have agreed to let Sancho leave for €85-90m, which is €10-15m less than his market value of €100m.

German journalist Raphael Honigstein claims Manchester United are one of the two clubs who have a shot at signing Sancho after this season.

“In my opinion, only two English clubs are eligible for a Sancho transfer: Chelsea and Manchester United. His ex-clubs Man City and Liverpool, on the other hand, are not,”  Honigstein told Sport1.

“United have a need and think Sancho is great. The question is: How do the Red Devils want to afford the player? The Corona pandemic has hit United.

“Sancho could end up becoming a political issue: the Glazers are under enormous pressure after Super League history. You could try to appease the fans with a Sancho transfer.”
