Carlos Miguel wants to remain at Nottingham Forest and fight for his place and has no interest in returning to Corinthians at present.
That’s according to Bolavip, relaying information from journalist Samir Carvalho, from the Café do Setorista channel on YouTube, who says the Brazilian side aren’t interested in the idea either.
Miguel joined Nottingham Forest in a €4m deal in the summer but has barely featured this season, with just three appearances and 239 minutes to date.
Two of those have come in the FA Cup and the other in the EFL Cup and he has featured since the win over Exeter City in the FA Cup in February.
That has largely been due to the fine form of Matz Sels, who has 13 clean sheets in 34 games in the Premier League this season, topping the clean sheets charts.
Recent reports stated that Miguel could return to Brazil with Corinthians, where they are unconvinced by Hugo Souza’s immediate back up Matheus Donelli.
Carvalho, though, reports this is not on the cards. First there is the fact that Miguel’s move to Nottingham Forest was seen as a ‘betrayal’ at Corinthians at the time and that doesn’t make him particularly welcome at the club.
Furthermore, neither the club nor the player are interested in the move either. Miguel also wants to continue fighting for his place at Nottingham Forest despite a disappointing campaign for him.
Thus, this is a move that seems unlikely to ever happen for several reasons and can be dismissed as far as Carvalho is concerned.
