Earlier on Wednesday, we covered the latest on Fulham’s attempts to sign Justin Kluivert from AS Roma.

Gazzetta dello Sport explained that talks had come to an abrupt halt when the Craven Cottage side’s latest offer didn’t match what the Serie A club were wanting.

The suggestion was that everything had stopped for the time being, but TuttoMercatoWeb believe different, with work still taking place behind the scenes to get a deal done.

They echo a lot of what Gazzetta reported, which was that Fulham wanted a loan with a view to buy if they remained in the Premier League.

However, they claim AS Roma want a straight transfer, which Marco Silva’s side responded to with a bid of ‘less than €10m’, which was ‘returned to sender’.

That’s when the talks stopped, but they now claim that both parties are ‘at work to mend’ the negotiations, partly because Kluivert ‘already has an agreement with Fulham’, which has been the case ‘for several days’.

It’s not over yet, and with a week left in the transfer window, we could see some more developments in the coming days.
