Former Juventus defender Martin Cáceres is still looking for a club to play for this season. The 29-year-old’s contract with the Old Lady expired at the end of June, and despite much speculation, the Uruguayan international hasn’t found anything concrete yet.

Cáceres has already been linked to Chelsea and Swansea City in the past few months, and this time Calcio Mercato claims that he was offered to West Brom.

The website says he’s also being followed by Juventus’ Serie A rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan.

It’s hard to believe he’s wanted by big sides and they still haven’t signed him, as it’s just a matter of giving the player a contract. Maybe the claims of widespread interest are an effort to drum up actual interest.

The player suffered several injuries last season, which left him out of most of Juventus’ games and also missing from the national team, having made only 9 appearances in an year.

Should West Brom be interested then it would be a relatively simple deal to conclude, depending on the length of contract the player is looking for.
