Having finally decided to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the weekend after a poor 4-1 loss to Watford, Manchester United now need a new manager.

The club made it clear they would likely hire an interim until the end of the season, although that could change if one of their top targets were to be made available, such as Mauricio Pochettino.

The English media have already said the Argentine would be interested in the Old Trafford role if it became available, and it appears the Red Devils have already taken the first steps to try and make that become a reality.

Foot Mercato are reporting the manager’s entourage are ‘already in contact’ with Manchester United about a potential switch from Paris Saint-Germain.

The journalist reporting it, Santi Aouna, adds a little bit more on his Twitter page, claiming the former Tottenham manager ‘is ready to leave PSG during the season’, but has ‘officially not asked to leave’.

As to what the Ligue 1 side would do if they were to agree to let him go, it’s said Zinédine Zidane would be their objective.
