Not afraid to speak his mind, Frank Leboeuf hasn’t exactly endeared himself to Manchester United fans by recently being rather critical of Paul Pogba.
The Argentinean winger didn’t leave the best impression on the Old Trafford faithful during his very brief spell in the Premier League, and what Leboeuf had to say about him is sure to strike the right chord with them.
On his performance against Arsenal, he said: “I can’t believe Di Maria. A back heel, a corner and that’s it. What I hate the most in football is when I see a wimp. The guy avoids every challenge. It’s amazing. There’s too much sporadicalness with him.
“Since he joined PSG, he’s not doing what he did at Real Madrid. Since Manchester, he’s just gone downhill.”
While a lot of this is true, Di Maria’s 15 goals and 25 assists in 47 appearances last season for the Ligue 1 champions would suggest some kind of resurgence compared to his time at Manchester United.
Then again, he also had Zlatan Ibrahimovic to put the ball in the net for him back then…
