Watford’s deal for the Fluminense youngster João Pedro continues to get a bad reaction in Brazil.

Although the 17-year-old’s transfer hasn’t been made official yet, big outlets such as Globo Esporte take it as a done deal. The problem is that the numbers haven’t been reported.

The mystery creates suspicion from Fluminense fans, who are afraid that one of their jewels is leaving for little. Netflu, the club’s biggest fansite, had a column last month about it.

Now the general fanbase seems to have the same opinion. It can be seen in Netflu’s story from the weekend, which reported João Pedro’s decisive goal against city rivals Flamengo.

In the comments section, a fan says “They only don’t reveal the value not to make it clear that they are hurting Flu”.

Another claims that “A sale that is made and the value is not revealed is at least suspect”.

Finally, a third one says: “A lot of silliness about this kid’s negotiation, and for ridiculous values I’m sure”.

Netflu makes it clear that the negotiation with Watford is done, as the article’s headline states. Now we wait for an official confirmation, and maybe, just maybe, an amount being revealed.

Watford already made a deal with Fluminense when signing Richarlison from the Brazilian side in 2017. The Hornets paid €12m for the deal, and sold him to Everton for several times that just a year later.
