With the recent links between Sevilla and Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, the rumour reached the La Liga side’s press conference today.

Sporting director Victor Orta spoke to the local media about the transfer window, and ended up asked whether the Red Devils’ midfielder is one of the targets for January.

Quoted by Estadio Deportivo, the Sevilla chief tried to avoid the rumours, claiming there’s a lot to be worked on.

“Muzambo will be for youth teams but I can only talk about Sevilla players. This fever feeding the market causes a lot of news, but I can’t single out situations,” said Victor Orta.

Earlier this week, reports from the Spanish media claimed that Hannibal himself said yes to a move to Sevilla, even though Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reluctant to let the midfielder leave in the middle of the season.

The youngster only has 10 appearances made for the Red Devils this season, and apparently isn’t confident that the coach is ready to give him some chances to start at the club.

A loan would probably not be a bad idea for Manchester United to see him getting more experience, but it seems it’s all up to the Dutch manager’s decision.
