Brighton & Hove Albion need to act quickly if they want to stand a chance of signing Jonathan Cafu.
Sport Witness has learned the Brazilian’s future is close to being sorted, and now there are only three clubs remaining in the race.
In the lead is currently French side Bordeaux, who are close to landing the winger in an €8m deal. Talks with Ludogorets have advanced in the past few days and the move could happen soon.
But the Bulgarian club is still expecting other bids before closing the deal, with Brighton and Lazio being the other sides who have shown recent interest.
Ludogorets are hoping these bids could arrive as soon as tonight, otherwise Bordeaux’s rush could end up convincing the club to sell Cafu for that price, despite his €12m release clause.
In case all the bids are equal, the Brazilian will always favour Brighton, because of his personal desire to join a Premier League club.
Other Premier League clubs have also contacted Ludogorets in the past, but Brighton are the only English side who have kept their interest going.
