On Thursday, Tuttosport reported Albert Gudmundsson dreams of making a switch to the Premier League and is waiting for a call from Tottenham Hotspur.
On Tuesday, Calciomercato said Spurs have planned a summit with Genoa and are trying to get ahead of Juventus and Inter Milan in the race for the 26-year-old.
Tottenham signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa in January and plan to return to the same club for the forward in the summer window.
Earlier this week, the Nerazzurri won the title and Corriere dello Sport state they have started planning to bolster their squad for next season.
The Iceland international is one of their main targets as it’s claimed he’s ‘exactly the missing piece’ at the San Siro. It won’t be easy for them to sign him and Tottenham are one of the reasons for it.
The newspaper states Genoa need to cash in from his sale and are asking as much €40m for him. This, coupled with the strong interest from Ange Postecoglou’s side, makes it challenging for the Italian champions to sign the player.
Inter are keen on overcoming Tottenham in the race for Gudmundsson, but if Spurs were to pay €40m, and the Italian media expect they can, it looks difficult for them to beat the north London club.
Gudmundsson has scored 15 goals and registered four assists from 35 games this season.
