While he might not officially be working for Idrissa Gueye any longer, Thierno Seydi made it clear earlier this month that he still advises the Everton midfielder on the side.
Explaining that he was the one behind the Paris Saint-Germain saga in January by kicking off talks with those in charge of recruiting at the Ligue 1 champions, the agent also revealed the Toffees star doesn’t currently have a representative.
However, he might need some help in the summer, according to Seydi, who, in an interview with APS in Senegal, believes the Everton man won’t be short of offers in the coming months.
He said: “It’s true that we would have liked him to go to PSG, but this approach brought him to the fore to play in the best teams in the world. I’m convinced that a lot of big teams with be interested in him.
“It’s a shame he didn’t move to PSG, but he hasn’t lost everything because he will be one of the most sought after players at the end of the season.”
With a number of big teams in need of bolstering their midfield, including Paris Saint-Germain, Seydi is probably right.
A lot will depend on Everton, as they made it clear they wanted a replacement in January before letting their star defensive midfielder go, and the same could be the case in the summer.
As for Gueye, he has made it clear he wanted to move to Paris Saint-Germain a couple of months ago, but has now put it all behind him and is focused on doing his best at Goodison Park.
