Earlier this week, we covered claims made it Italy that Everton have made contact to sign Juventus’ Federico Gatti.

The 24-year-old is beginning to gain prominence at the Serie A side as he’s started in their last six matches. He’s also starred in these fixtures and scored a winner in his side’s win over Sporting on Thursday.

Calciomercato state the centre-back’s recent fine displays have attracted the attention of other clubs. Only Everton are mentioned.

The Italy international doesn’t intend to change clubs in the summer and is determined to have a long-term future in Turin.

Juve, who plan to retain Gatti, would only sacrifice him if there’s an ‘indispensable offer’ of around €25-30m. This was communicated to intermediaries and market operators, including those who collected the interest from the Premier League, with Everton ‘in particular’.

It’s explained Sean Dyche’s side have been betting on signing him for some time. They are 17th in the table. Should the Merseyside club avoid relegation, they will focus on refreshing their squad and Gatti would be one of the options to bolster their defence.

Everton are ‘serious’ about the Juventus player and ‘new attempts’ could be made to sign him in the next window.
