If you want to find yourself a Premier League scout in the wild, then Portugal is the place you should be looking.

Trips to the country have become an almost weekly occurrence for top-flight talent spotters and Everton are always among them.

Earlier this week we brought you reports of them scouting Benfica in the Champions League and suggested some players they may be keen on, and now it seems they were at Porto vs Young Boys in the Europa League as well.

That’s according to A Bola, who say Everton were among 15 clubs, five of whom were from the Premier League, to have someone scouting the game.

The newspaper makes no mention of who the Toffees were there to scout, just they had an interest in the game.

The obvious assumption to make is they were there to watch Moussa Marega.

The striker has long been linked with a move to Goodison Park and back in May we covered a report from O Jogo that they remained keen.

The 28-year-old certainly would add a much-needed goalscoring threat, although it’s debatable whether Marcel Brands would be interested given his age, and the fact Everton paid big money to sign Moise Kean this summer.

If they were there to see the striker, they’d have had mixed reviews as he had a solid but uninspiring evening in Porto’s 2-1 win.
