Over the past couple of days, there’s been some confidence in Italy that Moise Kean could be returning to Juventus.
Gazzetta dello Sport said Kean was ‘one step away’ from the Turin club, and that the move was ‘very close’ to happening.
Juventus either wanted to loan the player for two years, with a compulsory purchase clause at the end, or send players to Everton in exchange. As we pointed out, neither of those options sounded good for the Toffees, even if you chose to believe the claims they want Kean out.
Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport takes a hammer to the rumour. Their headline reads: ‘Kean to the Old Lady, Everton says no’
They’re not interested in a sale or even a loan, and it’s explained the response from Goodison Park was ‘cold, very cold’.
However, that may not be the end of it, with Corriere going on to say that Kean and his family have asked Mino Raiola to find a solution for a return to Italy.
The suggestion is he hasn’t settled in England, but then the Italian media say similar about nearly every footballer who leaves the country.
