Saturday’s saw fresh claims from Portugal on the future of Moussa Marega and a potential move to England.

The FC Porto striker has been repeatedly linked with Premier League clubs, and it’s a move he’s long wanted. As far as the Portuguese press have it, the player was on the verge of signing for West Ham last summer, and had already agreed personal terms with the London club.

Porto then blocked any move, with manager Sérgio Conceição insisting he needed to keep Marega in his squad. That’s still the same, but Porto now have the pressure of the player’s contract situation, with the current deal expiring in June 2021.

West Ham have been presented as being keen again, and would find the transfer easier this time.

Sunday’s edition of A Bola has quotes from the player’s agent Aziz Ben Aissa, who said: “Marega is looking for a good project at FC Porto or in England.”

There’s been no offers yet, and the temptation over a move to the Premier League continues. Should that not be possible then he’ll consider a renewal with Porto.
