Everton striker Cenk Tosun has spoken to Turkish TV channel TRT Spor and said he would like to continue his career in the Premier League.
The Turkish striker stated that he’s started light training after his knee injury and is getting better each day: “Everything is going well at the moment. I’m spending time with my family during this period. My knee is getting better each day. I’m also talking with doctors and physios all the time.
“They are saying I need around seven to nine months to fully recover so I will take my time. I won’t rush anything,” he said, as covered by Fanatik.
Speaking about his career, Tosun said he wants to continue his career in England as he’s still determined to prove himself: “Premier League was my childhood dream. I’ve turned this dream into reality. Actually, I haven’t done anything yet. I have to score more goals and I know that.”
The 28 year old said his time at the south London club was a good one and it was a shame it has come to a premature end: “Palace wanted me when I was at Besiktas. They greeted me very well there. After that, I was injured and returned to Everton. When I was leaving, the owner of the club thanked me. I had no regrets, we parted ways on good terms.”
The Turkish striker joined Crystal Palace on a loan deal in January but after making just five appearances for the south London side he suffered a knee injury in training, which ruled him out for the season.
Following his injury, Tosun’s loan spell with the Eagles was cut short and he returned to Everton for treatment. The injury would have ruled him out of Euro 2020.
