After Gonzalo Higuain’s big money move to Juventus, Aurelio De Laurentiis is keen on inserting release clause in Manolo Gabbiadini’s new contract.
Gabbiadini was strongly linked with a move to Everton during the summer transfer, but nothing materialized.
On Wednesday, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Napoli rejected an offer from Everton for Gabbiadini.
The 24-year-old has another three years left on his current deal, but the Serie A club are ready to offer him a new contract.
Gazzetta say Napoli will start negotiations in the coming days over a new contract until 2021.
Gabbiadini is apparently asking for €3m per season plus bonuses, and there could be a release clause as well.
The Italian striker didn’t play too often last season, but could play an important role this season after the departure of Higuain.
Everton could revive their interest in Gabbiadini, especially if Romelu Lukaku decides to leave the club.
