Dele Alli has been warned that his next step will be the Championship if he cannot make a success of his loan deal from Everton to Besiktas.

Alli joined the Turkish side on loan in the summer when it was made clear that he was not a part of Frank Lampard’s plans moving forwards.

He initially joined the Toffees from Tottenham in January last year but failed to make any significant impact as they battled against relegation in the season run in.

He was subsequently shipped out to Besiktas but has flopped in the Super Lig, struggling to get his career back on track and putting in a series of disappointing performances.

Besiktas have been keen to get rid of him early as a result but that is something Everton are not interested in, preferring to leave him in Turkey until the summer before dealing with the situation then.

It means Alli will need to work to get himself back into Besiktas’ plans, with journalist Gökmen Özcan sending a warning to the Everton loanee.

“Dele Alli’s last chance is Besiktas,” he tweeted.

“Everton don’t want him to return. If he fails here, his next route will be Championship. I hope he acts with the awareness of this and makes the most of this opportunity.”
