It’s well known that Everton are on the hunt for a new striker this summer, with the club hoping to finally replace Romelu Lukaku.
The Blues have been linked to several young strikers, including Rafael Leão and Moise Kean. It appears that they may be looking at another Juventus striker, though, with a new report saying they’re interested in Mario Mandzukic.
TuttoJuve report that the striker is ‘under the watchful eye’ of Everton and they ‘would be ready to propose’ an offer of €15m for Juventus’ number 17.
They don’t state whether that would be an acceptable amount for Juventus but believe that Mandzukic could ‘agree to live an adventure in the Premier League’.
Whether or not Everton’s offer would interest him is debatable. They could likely offer him decent wages and a chance in the Premier League but they don’t have European football of any kind to offer him.
They would, of course, be delighted to have a striker of his calibre given their options but its also questionable whether Marcel Brands, a man known to prefer young talent with a high resale value, would want to sign a 33-year-old.
Perhaps Mandzukic is an option for later in the window if they can’t get their first choice targets.
