Everton are facing competition from Napoli for Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao, who is looking increasingly likely to move in January or the summer.

That’s according to Tutto Udinese, who say the Brazilian ‘does not seem to be willing’ to renew his contract at the Serie A club, leading to his suitors coming forward.

Everton are among those who are keen, with it stated they are one of those who have ‘been following the player for some time’ and would still like to sign him.

They now face competition from Napoli, though, who have been in contact with the Pozzo family in the last few hours in an attempt to try and understand the feasibility of a move happening.

This is backed up by Messaggero Veneto, who say Napoli are ‘in pole’ for Becao, who is more attracted to the idea of playing Champions League football with them than struggling with Everton ‘away from the cups’.

They explain that Udinese are more than happy to sell Becao next month or in the summer, as they know the window to make a good profit on him is closing.

The move they are looking for could now happen next month, although it seems Everton have some convincing to do if they are to convince Becao to make Goodison Park his next destination.
