According to De Telegraaf, PSV have opened talks to sign Vitesse goalkeeper Eloy Room. The 28 year old has also been linked with a move to Everton in recent weeks.
Room could leave the Dutch side this summer after losing his place in the team. With just one year left on his contract, Vitesse could also decide to sell Room in this window, and PSV, along with Everton, are looking to sign the player.
Earlier today Ad.nl reported PSV are showing an interest in Room. The Dutch newspaper said PSV are looking to bring in a goalkeeper as a back to their current No.1 Jeroen Zoet.
PSV coach Phillip Cocu is concerned about the injury problems his second choice keeper, Luuk Koopmans has been experiencing, and the Dutchman wants to address this before the window closes.
It’s been suggested Cocu is targeting Room and Bram Castro from Heracles. The former Barcelona midfielder could also look at options abroad, say Ad.nl.
We recently covered reports from the Netherlands that Dutch press Room is looking to force a move away from Vitesse, and that Everton is the likeliest destination for the player.
With the uncertainty over the future of Joel Robles at the Premier League side, Ronald Koeman is considering bringing in Room as his 3rd choice stopper.
The Vitesse player would provide back up to Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg, if Robles returns to Spain.
