Everton are continuing to monitor Bologna full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu as they eye a new right-back this summer.

That’s according to Il Resto di Carlino, who say Everton are one of several clubs to have taken a look at the defender.

As you’ll be aware, by now, Everton are determined to sign a new right-back this summer as a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman.

They have been heavily linked with a move for Netherlands star Denzel Dumfries, but his great performances at the Euros means he has loftier suitors, such as Inter.

Indeed, the latest reports indicate that Inter are leading the chase, and if that is true, then Everton will be forced to look elsewhere.

And that may have led them to Tomiyasu, according to Il Resto di Carlino, who say they ‘continue to monitor’ the full-back this summer.

That’s all they offer at this point, so it’s really only an interest in him rather than anything more concrete at this stage, but it’s not the first time Everton have been linked.

They were linked in Italy back in April and were believed to have asked for information ahead of a possible move in this transfer window.

It appears that interest remains, although they may have to move quickly, with Tottenham pushing hard to secure him ahead of the competition.
