Everton and Lucas Digne still continues to rumble on in the Catalan media.

On Monday we covered claims that the Frenchman isn’t really keen on a move, but it’s always seemed like he’s one of the players Barcelona would look to sell this summer if a good offer comes in.

Sport underlines that on Tuesday, by saying an offer ‘exceeding €16m’ would be studied. When the claims first started it was reported that €16m is the asking price, and perhaps the Catalan newspaper is trying to push it up slightly to help out their local club.

It’s claimed 24 year old Digne is actually considering a move, going against other reports, because he fancies a return to the French national team, or at least the squad. Missing out on being a World Cup winner must sting.

Everton has ‘asked’ for the player but there’s no claim of an offer going in from the Toffees or of talks with the Merseyside club.

As we’ve said from the start, if this is a signing Everton really want then a reasonable fee should be enough to tempt Barca as they look to bring a chunk of money in this summer.

Sport suggest the amount gained from sales could be as high as €150m, just from fringe players.
