Everton continue to be named as an option for Barcelona striker Vitor Roque, with the Catalans desperate to move him on.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who again throw Everton into the mix, even while focusing heavily on Porto’s potential interest.

The newspaper explains that Evanilson’s move to Bournemouth from Porto could open up a door to the Portuguese side for Roque as they’ll need a replacement.

Reports in Portugal have even suggested as much, with Porto president André Villas-Boas even expressing an interest in the Brazilian. They could now make an effort to get him with the money they’re getting from selling Evanilson.

They would seemingly be at the front of the queue as rival Sporting Club de Portugal have pulled away after initial claims of them being interested.

Mundo then bring Everton into it, again, stating that ‘the option’ of a move to Goodison Park is being ‘maintained’.

According to them, the Blues have shown they are ‘willing to pay’ for Roque and initially proposed a deal worth €25m plus €3m in variables. Barcelona want more and so would turn that down.

Mundo continue to insist Everton are in the picture, though, despite Sean Dyche believing Everton are done in the window and reports in England stating they’ll only be looking at loans.

Perhaps that’s just a tactic from the Toffees or, conversely, their name continues to be used by either Barcelona or the player’s agent to keep other suitors like Porto keen.
