French outlet Foot Mercato today features a long and interesting piece on Bruno Guimarães.

Their report recalls the midfielder’s entire story at Lyon, from the time he was signed to the moment where he started drawing attention from the Premier League, where he was signed by Newcastle United in January this year.

To have a say on Bruno’s first few months with the Magpies, Foot Mercato invited his agent Alexis Malavolta to talk, and the representative explained how glad the player is to have achieved that transfer.

“Bruno is very happy to play for Newcastle. He realises his dream in the Premier League,” Malavolta told Foot Mercato.

“He likes the intensity of this championship. His dream is coming true. His goal this season is on track as it is to keep Newcastle in the top flight of football. The owners’ plan is to sign great players, to win titles and stay in the Premier League.”

Malavolta also shared a few details of Bruno’s adaptation to England, claiming the player has been getting a lot of support from him and his family for now.

“Bruno studies English every day with the same teacher who taught him French,” said the agent.

“He is still looking for a home in Newcastle. In the meantime, he lives with me. I decided to settle in Newcastle because it is a decisive year for Bruno. His parents will also move here.”

Bruno Guimarães joined Newcastle on a €42m move in the final days of the January transfer window.

Despite starting on the bench in his first few games, he has now won a place in the team and recently scored his first goal for the Magpies with a very memorable back-heeled finish.
