Hellas Verona forward Cyril Ngonge has revealed he dreams of playing for Arsenal in the future during an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

The 23-year-old has been in the Netherlands between 2019 until January 2023, when he made a switch to the Serie A side. He scored five goals and managed an assist from 15 games in the second half of last season for Hellas Verona.

After spending six months in Italy, the Belgian has expressed his desire to continue in Serie A next season. At the same time, he’s publicly talked about his admiration for Arsenal, when asked about his dreams.

“My dream has always been to play for Arsenal. But now I’m in Italy, I love it so I might even want to stay. Just kidding, of course,” he said.

Ngonge was used as a centre forward, second striker and a winger at Hellas Verona this year.

Even though he aims a future move to Arsenal, his focus, at least for next season, is to star for his current employer.

When asked about his goals, Ngonge explained: “Next season I would like to have an even bigger impact on Serie A. Hoping to play a full season.”

Should he impress for Hellas Verona next season, the Belgian could then maintain a hope of convincing Arsenal to make an approach for him in 2024 or beyond.
