We’ve reached that time of the year when Portuguese newspapers will have an update on William Carvalho transfer rumours every single day.

Local newspapers Record and O Jogo both have stories on the Sporting midfielder today, both saying it’s very likely he’ll leave the club in the summer.

Record has the most interesting story, saying Everton are keen. They make it sound like things are in the early stages, as the market moves are just starting.

According to the outlet, Sporting would accept €40m for William. That’s €5m below his release clause.

O Jogo claims that William’s problems with club president Bruno de Carvalho should lead him to leave the club, but that won’t happen so fast.

Sporting want to hold the player until the end of the World Cup, because since the midfielder is a regular starter for Portugal, his tournament could raise his price.

The newspaper has different information on the price, saying the minimum amount would be €30m. That would be good news for Everton, although things are always pretty dark when negotiating with Sporting.
