According to a claim in the Swedish media, AIK’s attempts to sign West Ham United midfielder Sead Haksabanovic have failed.
Earlier this week there were reports the West Ham youngster was close to a move to the Swedish champions.
Sportbladet have reported on the latest updates with regards to AIK’s pursuit of Haksabanovic and they say talks with the Hammers have come to a dead end.
According to the Swedish newspaper it was expected the player would be presented at AIK this week, but this is no longer the case.
AIK’s sporting director Björn Wesström has also been asked about his club’s interest in the West Ham man: “I can’t say anything at all if we have been in negotiations or if there will be any. I have nothing to say about it. We are working on finding solutions for our squad but who we are talking to stays between us.”
With Kristoffer Olsson heading to Russia in this transfer window, Haksabanovic was seen as an ideal replacement for the attacking midfielder.
The 19 year old recently retuned to the London club after a disappointing loan spell with Malaga and another loan move looked to be on the cards. It’s unlikely he’ll force himself into West Ham’s first team this season and going out again on a temporary basis could be his best option.
