After missing out on Jack Wilshere to West Ham United, Takvim report Fenerbahce have switched their attention to Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum.

Takvim claim Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has flown to England to discuss a move with Wijnaldum’s representatives later today.

Comolli will reportedly present the new Fenerbahce project to the Liverpool player’s agent and the Frenchman is hoping he can convince the 27 year old over a move to Istanbul. The Turkish side are trying to agree a loan deal for the central midfielder.

Wijnaldum and Cocu worked together at PSV for two years, and the Dtuch coach is keen to see his former player at Fenerbahce next season.

After the arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho at Liverpool this summer, Wijnaldum’s chances are likely to be limited next season and Fenerbahce are hoping to use this situation to their advantage.

The Netherlands international still has three years left on his Liverpool contract.
