It seems technical director, whose most recent role was with Watford, Ben Manga could soon be on his way to Germany.

A couple of local journalists today report that possibility. The first one was Sky Deutschland’s Dirk Schlarmann, who claims Schalke 04 would like the 50-year-old to replace André Hechelmann.

It’s said Manga’s name ‘has already been discussed’ at the Bundesliga side, while he was still working at Watford, and now have an open spot which he could fill.

Meanwhile, Patrick Berger, who also works for Sky, points out that Schalke indeed have the former Hornets’ man as the ‘favourite’ for the position.

It’s said Manga is the ‘solution’ seen by the German club, and the talks for his arrival are ongoing.

Manga already has some experience working at Bundesliga side, as he’d been a scout at Hoffenheim, Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt.

It was in Frankfurt that he got a job as a football director, having then held that position at Watford between December 2022 and October 2023.

Schalke saw Hechelmann leave the club this week, and as they look for a quick replacement, everything indicates Manga could be their new man.
